It's been too long.

Hey there adoring fans!

I know it's been ages and ages since I last updated this blog-o-rama, and I have no decent excuse for that. What's even worse is that I'm not posting anything of value right now! This is more a "Hey, I remember this exists, and I'll post some stuff I've been doing soon!" In my defense, It was exams, and then I did some moving, and started a new job, and managed to get a girl to date me, so I've been somewhat distracted. But I've also made a few cool projects, and I have an elaborate one planned for the next week or two. I won't reveal what it is, but it will be made of 100% recycled or reused materials. So stay tuned for that. I double dog dare you.

I also realize no one really cares or remembers, but this is your last chance to put in your vote for my official sign off, or if I even should have one or just make up a new one each time. If you want to know which sign offs I've used before, just look at the end of each previous post, duh. Also, I guess I should put that patch on my Swacket (which you can read all about in the post 'Swacket'). 2

So that's it for now home skillets. Never stop believing, magic is real.

What Up?

So, I realize it's been a while since I've posted anything. This is partially because I've been busy, and partially because I've just done very little worth talking about. But, I'll fill you in on a couple projects I've been working on the last while, and maybe someone will find it interesting.

One thing that's made it to the top of my to do list is gardening. As of this year, I've started renting a plot at the communal gardens at Uvic, and am also part of an organization called FREE, which stands for Food Revolution, Everyone Eats. The basic idea is that a bunch of us have garden plots, and work on them together, keeping a bit for ourselves, and donating the bulk of our harvest to food banks around Victoria. So, I've been doing a bunch of double digging on my plot, to get it ready and/or useful.

Instinctive Inherentism

Okay, so for those who have been following, this is part 3 of 3, wrapping up the three part series on world views. If you haven't read the other two...read them...if you want...I guess. But yeah, this is more of a real world view than the last two posts, and I think the other two ideas have a bit of a home within this one so, that's a thing to think about, which Ill get into, in a bit, but first I'm going to tell a story.

So when I first started thinking about this idea,  I hopped on google to test out names, see if the exist, etc. One of my early choices, and the name I still would've liked the most was 'Instinctivism" so, I looked it up and unfortunately, it's already a theory. So finding this out, I decided to read up on it a bit here to see if the theory I was developing what similar or the same. It wasn't. As it turns out, Instinctivism is the theory that follows:

The Unified Self

Well, if anyone out there tuned in yesterday, you know that this is part two of a three part series on random various world views and ideas. And if you didn't tune in, and as a result do NOT know that, I'd suggest reading the post before this one, called "World Views". You don't have to necessarily read it before or after, there's no significance to the order, but you know, just read it!

Anyway, the theory I'm going to talk about today is called (by myself) 'The Unified Self'. It ties into be everyone else by giving some guidelines or boundaries to the attributes we adopt to the 'Perfect Self" I guess. Most of this is random ideas and thought experiments I do in my spare time, which I have way too much of, so some of what I'm writing is already in my head, and some I'm coming up with on the spot.

World Views

Okay, so here I am, on a Tuesday evening, haven't had school all day, met up with a cute girl earlier, and now I'm just home from Thai food with the room mates, and wearing a freshly washed onesie, seems like a good time to write a post. In the last couple days I've done a few things I thought I might blog about: Made sushi for the first time, renovated my beer pong table and baked some 100% whole wheat bread. Unfortunately almost all of those failed, or at least didn't turn out the way I imagined. Although people seemed to still enjoy the bread when they were here Friday.

Anyway, I am instead going to start part one of a three piece series on various theories, world views and/or philosophies that I am currently working on over time. Some people may have read some of it before, because I've posted bits in other places, and I don't know if they all tie together or anything, or if they one day will, but maybe that's because I haven't had input from my legions of readers yet. Anyway, my first post in this series is going to talk about my issues with the idea of "being yourself".

Cause Why Not?!?

Here I am, updating my blog, like I do. Although its not because I have anything worthwhile to talk about, or any new projects that I want to share. It's mainly because I posted a link on facebook for this bad boy yesterday, and now my reader base has expanded exponentially. I think it's almost double digits!

Swacket!

So, as promised, here's a post about my recent attempt at sewing!

First things first, I think it's vitally important that I let everyone out there know that, being a male who sews, I am going to refer to myself as a Seamster, because I think it sounds cool.

Now to business. The story starts at Christmas. From my lovely Aunt and Uncle I received a very nice plaid over shirt, sort of a shirt/jacket hybrid. I say this because it had no pockets for my hands to go in, so it wasn't a jacket, but it also was fleece lined, so it was very warm for a shirt. And the sleeves were a little too short. BUT since I'm one-quarter lumberjack and another quarter hipster (Maybe one day I'll let you in on what my other quarters are...), I instantly loved it and never wanted to take it off, unless it was to wear another plaid shirt of equal value. But it was awkward, because it was too warm if I kept it on inside, and I hate not having my hands in my jacket pockets if it's chilly outside! What's a lumber-hipster boy to do?
